I have designed the TallyTales site to help my fellow teachers access information and resources that will support their literacy instruction in multisensory phonics, based upon the Orton Gillingham approach. I am so glad you are visiting today, and I hope you will find what you need... and more!

Welcome!

2020-2021 MISSISSIPPI TEACHER OF THE YEAR

TOOLS & TIPS for TEACHING & LEARNING

Shhh! Don’t tell her my secret!

I think it’s wonderful when we can create a learning experience that feels “magical” for our children! She doesn’t know that this is a multisensory technique that will help store this sight word away for long-term memory retention, nor does she need to understand all that. She just thinks there’s magic in her fingertips... and what a way to learn!

Teacher and Pupil

“I work one on one with a little boy with dyslexia and this resource was a fun way to teach phonics without relying solely on worksheets.  Great resource!” ~Marie S.

At the Library

“So love I didn't have to create this.  Thank you for taking the time to make what  teachers need.” ~Cindy Cordts

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING...

Hi! I'm Leslie, a National Board Certified Teacher with a passion for literacy instruction and advocacy. Currently, I am a teaching second grade, while also pursuing certification as a Dyslexia Specialist. I have recently been named the 2021 Mississippi Teacher of the Year, and I am so excited about the new experiences this next year will bring!

The Tally Tales site is my creative outlet for sharing my experiences and lessons learned as an educator, as well as my instructional products and other resources that might be helpful for fellow educators.
